Until I was asked to make something fun for 2 little girls and after some brainstorming this was the obvious and cutest choice!! These pillowcases are SO SOFT. I just hope these sisters love them as much as I do :)
The fabric is actually 2 pockets and of course her name on there is so fun! I'm thinking we could go so many ways on this, from individual pockets to frilly things to a more manly style. How FUN!
Recently I made the girls some shirts for their birthdays. I made an A and 6 to represent ones name and the others age. They turned out adorable! Love these kids, they are cute as can be!
Mason does. They are cute and seem simple enough. Obviously they come intricate but I figured a basic on might not be too hard. My best friend just had a baby boy and what a perfect excuse to drum up some cute things for him!! Hope he likes it!
With birthdays all at the end of year I decided to lump this post together so you could see everything. The 4 year old says he LOVES Spider-Man. So I went to Joann's and crossed my fingers that not only they would have something he would like but that would work in the shape of a 4--a tall order! LUCKILY, I ran smack into this fabric and made a shirt that I sure hope he loved!

The twins will turn 1 in December and their mom went and picked up this cute fabric. I must give her credit as well, she stumbled on these plain bibs and brought them to me to embellish for the kids and .... I just love them!! I need to go buy up stock in these bibs. I am sure the possibilities are endless here. Thank you B! I must say, these 2 kids were beyond cute in their bibs and shirts. Happy 1st Birthday E & O!

This is the first item I sewed for a sale!! Sam was turning 1 back in October and a friend of ours asked me to make him this item. I love the lining on the edge of the hood so I'm thinking that's a keeper for the future and just simple letters on the back. I have other ideas too though so stay tuned!

I don't like 'em too cheesy, but yet I like them to be cute. So since I am on this crafting kick, I knew making our own was the only option. This was made with heat transfer paper and my trusty Silhouette machine (which I love and cannot say enough things about). I designed the image and added Mason's name, love how it turned out! I will get a photo of him in it too...but taking a photo of a running around almost 18 month old is so hard!
And they are equally simple. Just mini cupcakes with the bottoms cut off. Fill with your favorite frosting! The possibilities are endless... think holiday colors, birthday parties, etc!
Being as its a larger camera you kind of have to wear the strap around your neck to keep it safe. Not that the "Canon" logo isn't cute...but I wanted to jazz it up and I have seen other make them on etsy and various other blogs so I thought I would give it a whirl. We'll call this 'version 1' so dont look too close because there are imperfections. I figured out that I need to just make the fabric wider when I cut it because I think I ran way too tight on the hem line. (which will probably cause the work to fray in the future). Anyhow, stay tuned because I am doing this again and I think I am going to add a pocket as a place to hold the lens cap... because for sure..I will loose it otherwise!
I had been wanting to attempt flower cupcakes and surprisingly had no trouble whipping these up! Don't you want to just reach though the screen and try some?
Being the ambitious sewer that I am I did some research and found a great tutorial on Tatertots and Jello. I think it turned out cute and hopefully Sara enjoys it! (stay tuned and we'll hopefully get a photo of her modeling the towel in action)
I have so many projects going right now but lots of them are gifts so I don't want to spoil surprises :)Erinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05600745752923848638noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1657513704181479303.post-20501016336567927572011-07-03T13:43:00.000-07:002011-07-04T06:43:16.293-07:004th of July Cake Pops
Okay well first I have to rave about this new machine I got. It's a Babycakes Cake Pop machine! You read me right, cake-pop-machine. Genius right? I mean, for one it made it a lot easier to make the pops and for another thing, it made it easier to dip the pops. Also, I wasn't the biggest fan of the taste of the frosting on the inside, I mean I have a sweet tooth so I liked it and ate it but these are a little lighter but still a great cake pop taste.

Anywho, after collecting and being inspired by so many 4th of July desserts on Pinterest ... in the end I was just too excited to make cake pops so that's what I made! Turned out pretty cute too if you ask me :) Still working on my technique for getting the chocolate super smooth but all in all not as hard as the original pops.

I decided that this year for the 4th of July I would make Mason's shirt. I came across some festive fabric at Hobby Lobby and these shirts were born! Fun. Creative. Easy. Cheap!
But... so expensive! I decided I could make them on my own. All you really need is a cute flower cookie cutter and some time. These were made for a bridal shower as centerpieces. Functional and they taste good, ha.
Last "Black Friday", I saw a sewing machine at Target that was on sale for $50. I thought... its now or never on buying one. So, I took the plunge and <strike>trial and error</strike> taught myself to sew. My desire was to make cute shirts for my son and other kids in my life. I love those boutique clothes but I am not willing to spend $40 on a shirt that says "M" or other such simplicity. Granted I still sew really slow and try my hardest to make straight lines but I am learning and getting better everyday. Here are some fun things I have made so far!
I'd say I am an intermediate baker and thought I would give royal icing a try. First up I studied every website out there about opinions on how to make the "right" royal icing. I took a lot of inspiration from The Sweet Adventures of SugarBelle since her cookies are AMAZING! For these cookies I used boxed sugar cookies (gasp!) but it was because I wanted to really spend time with the icing and worry about the cookies later. However, I will say... the boxed sugar cookies turned just as de-lish! Check out my first go at the D-A-D cookies!
